Speech Day and some Retail Therapy. =)
I was pissed today. More like annoyed actually.
First off, stupid Speech Day. I made a real effort to get down there on time at bloody 8.15am, okay? Only half the class came and those of us who did come had to wait until 9am when it turns out the event was scheduled to start. 4A got seated right at the back of the hall. I couldn't see anything, which wasn't half bad cuz there was nothing to see anyway.
The 2004 batch came back to recieve their prizes. I want to be one of them next year. I want to go back to Dmn in my school blazer and recieve a certificate for achieving 7A1s. =)
Lunched with Raihanis, Rashida and Shereen. They're really a fun bunch of people la. =) Laughed lots and then later, went and tried those formal shirts which I later bought and wore.
Since the beginning of the week, I'd been planning to head down to the Marina Bay that area to catch the firworks display tonight. I thought we could go to the mall beside Marina Mandarin (Marina Square, I think. Not too sure what it's called.) and watch the firworks while getting dinner. Cuz that place has a food court with outdoor seating that overlooks the Esplanade and all. Syid and I stumbled upon it a while back after training at Kallang.
But. Great minds think alike. I was peeved to find that the food court was bloody packed. I mean I should have expected it la, since the first level was already packed when normally, it's deserted. But I had to keep my hopes up, right? Gave up looking for a place to sit immediately and thought perhaps we'd have better luck at the Esplanade theatre itself.
But. Fools seldom differ. The tunnel to the Esplanade was jam packed and the lobby was worse. We hate crowds so we left.
Bloody hell. Cannot see the fireworks. And I was so looking forward to it.
Thank goodness for retail therapy then! =) It's sheer genius to come up with something like shopping to uplift peoples' moods. So between Aqil and I, I think we spent more than 250 bucks. I haven't felt so happy shopping in a long time, which is great too, with the Prelims nearing. And I intend on shopping on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday as well. =)
